While the forecast this week is sunny with temperatures in the low to mid 20s, the light has changed and mornings are noticeably chilly. I know some people refuse to do it before October, but I’ve turned on my heater a few mornings already to take the chill off.
It’s been a weird summer for a lot of reasons, the weather being the one I think we can all agree on in our neck of the woods. With record rainfall and very low temperatures, wild winds and early frosts (I’ve seen patchy frost already), it’s been difficult on the garden, and for the festivals this city I live in is well known for.
So I’m mourning summer a bit. Not a bit, I totally am. Was it kinda a crappy summer? Yes it was. But it was still summer, which means we’re here to enjoy it one more year, and I am thankful for that above all.
