A quick little update: I’ve decided at this juncture I won’t be automating shipping to the USA in my check out process, which I’m bummed about.
I’m gonna talk here about being a very, very small hobby shop trying to just get some art out into the world.
Unfortunately, everybody wants subscription money in order to integrate an automated way to have American shipping with duty included at checkout. I have a philosophical problem with the constant subscription model that’s taken over every facet of our lives, and at this point in this shop’s life, it is not worth it to me to be constantly spending money on a plug in. If it was a one time fee? I’m for it. But I detest subscriptions.
Having said that, I can ship to the USA with duty paid; but I have to do it manually. If you are an American customer, please contact me for a shipping and duty quote. I am very happy to do that.
Now for the update on the, well, shop update: I’ll be at a few markets in the last half of the year, something I’m dipping my toe into on a limited basis since I had some success with it at Christmas in 2025.
Because of that, and because I’m very much not a machine and make things slowly (natural dyeing + hand quilting is not a quick process), I’m holding off on the online shop for now to focus on those. I’ll likely re-open the online shop once my last market is done, which I anticipate to be mid-November. I may have a few smaller updates here and there, in which case I will post here, and on my new newsletter, which you can sign up to here (if you were a past customer, or signed up to the old newsletter, you’re already signed up).
I may also post on IG, but you know how often I post there since it’s rather soul-sucking.
