About

As of summer 2025, this shop is back open.

The shop originally was born in 2017 to foster the Alberta fibre shed by purchasing wool from local sheep producers at a much higher rate than what they could get from the Wool Co-op, which pays cents per pound. I connected with many amazing local farmers and made dozens of visits to working livestock farms in the province.

Life changed though, and with the growth of our family, I became unable to devote the time required to visit farms, skirt, wash, and prepare mountains of wool every spring, so it closed in November 2023. I wasn’t sure if it’d ever come back, but I kept it around just in case.

I began natural dyeing in 2017, and quilting in 2020. After the birth of my daughter, spinning wool took a bit of a backseat, and sewing and dyeing took more centre stage. Sewing continues to be something I can pick up and put down very easily to wrangle with a very active toddler (I know everybody says their toddler is active, but seriously this kid is nuts).

I make things just for the act of doing it. There’s something grounding in using my hands, and when they’re not full of crazy kid, they’re full of whatever project I’m working on. The flip side of needing to make things, is then having an abundance of things. I have an overflowing shelf finished things I don’t need, but I absolutely loved making. I flogged off as much as I could on friends and family, but you do eventually hit critical mass with that. With some encouragement from friends, I decided to reopen this shop.

Everything you see here was made by me, in between running after my toddler, in quiet naptime moments, or after bedtime. Most items are naturally dyed, although please refer to the individual listings for exact materials lists. I have a store FAQ here, a natural dye care page here, and a general store policies page here.
